Cape
Gem is the sole importer to the UK of all the jewellery
designs featured on the site and is very excited to
represent Mielie in the UK.
We only buy in accessories that are
ethically produced. They must also be eye popping,
individual and cool pieces that we would wear,
at an affordable price. It is important to
us to maintain our focus on the cape region
of South Africa and its designers and employers.
So many of the accessories bought today in
the UK are sourced from developing countries
where workers are paid meagre wages.
All of our suppliers, where they employ local people, pay fair wages
as a minimum.
We are looking at introducing other designers and different accessories
to our range and are evaluating other distribution channels. Currently,
a wide range of our selection can be purchased at the gifts and accessories
store, Life of Riley in Saffron Walden.
